Students travel to our Sydney venue from across the inner city, including Sydney CBD, Haymarket, Ultimo, Chippendale, Surry Hills, Pyrmont, Darling Harbour, Redfern, Glebe and Broadway.
CPR (HLTAID009) is 1.5 hours, First Aid (HLTAID011) is 3 hours and Childcare First Aid (HLTAID012) is 3.5 hours. Each has a short online component you complete beforehand in your own time.
The same day you attend the practical session. Your statement of attainment is nationally recognised and valid Australia-wide.
Nationally recognised first aid certification is generally treated as current for three years, with an annual CPR refresher.
Yes. You need a Unique Student Identifier before a nationally recognised certificate can be issued. It is free at usi help and takes a few minutes.
Most workplaces ask for HLTAID011 Provide First Aid, which includes the CPR unit. Education and care settings generally need HLTAID012. If you only need a CPR refresher, HLTAID009 is the short option.

Yes. So long as you have completed the online learning and are assessed as competent in all the practical demonstrations and role plays on the day, your nationally recognised Statement of Attainment is issued the same day, and a PDF is made available in your student portal.
Yes you do. You need to demonstrate a 2 minute continuous period of performing CPR on an adult manikin which must be placed on the floor (same with child manikin for those doing HLTAID012). CPR on infant manikins needs to be for 2 minutes on a firm surface.
According to government regulations, we will be unable to issue you with a Statement of Attainment bearing units codes and names although we can issue you with a simple Statement of Attendance.

You can also pay in person at our Sydney office, Level 5, 8 Quay Street, Haymarket, Monday to Friday 8am-5pm, by cash, EFTPOS or credit card. Payment before the day of the course is essential - class sizes are strictly limited.
Please bring photo ID and writing material if you want to take any notes during the first aid course. Our first aid classes start promptly so don't be late! We will not allow entry if you are more than 15 minutes late and you will need to re-book and pay again for another class. Please wear comfortable clothing and bear in mind that you will be on the ground in some cases performing simulated first aid.
There are no written exams that need to be undertaken on the day of your first aid class. Assessment will be by way of practical tasks and role plays based on scenarios.

Our course is flexible in delivery and comprises an easy pre-study component followed by a 1 day in-class practical course. The easy pre-study consists of 114 MCQs which can be done online. The pre-study takes on average 3-5 hours. (You keep answering the questions until you get 100% - as many times as it takes with no time limit)
The age limit is 14 or above unless accompanied by an adult. The accompanying adult also has to pay full price for attending the course.
We run first aid courses every week of the year.
Students will need to be able to follow and recall instructions and information provided by the trainer so that they can complete activities that will be assessed. The activities will include demonstrating practical skills competently and recording answers to written questions. With First Aid, these written questions are asked via a pre-course online workbook. You will need to converse in English to take part in the scenarios in class.
Given that you will need to complete online learning as part of this course, you will need to be computer-literate.
No. You will have to book in and pay for HLTAID011 and attend that course in its entirety.
Only if it is within 6 weeks of your successful completion of HLTAID011 with CBD College. If you fall into this category, please call us on 1300 628 299 to book in. If you don`t fall into this category, you will have to book in and pay for HLTAID012 and complete the practical and online components of that course in their entirety.
No. In this case, you will only need to attempt modules 15 and 16 in the Child Care online learning.
CBD College has delivered nationally recognised training across Australia since 2001, and our trainers are experienced practitioners who teach clearly and practically. Classes run every day in the Sydney CBD, and your certificate is issued the same day.
We are unable to offer refunds for no-shows, or for cancellations after booking where you simply decide not to attend. If you need to change your class date, use the Switch function in your student portal. A switching fee always applies, even more than 48 hours before your class, and it is higher if you switch within 48 hours - so manage your switch as early as you can.
If you have a special need arising from learning difficulties, emotional or behavioural problems, or physical disabilities, you should contact info@cbdcollege.edu.au prior to course commencement. Please note that CPR needs to be demonstrated on the floor.
Our trainers and assessors are both experienced and skilled in giving support to learners and in making reasonable adjustments to training and assessment to accommodate learner needs, where required. Where necessary, our trainers and assessors can make themselves available to meet with students outside scheduled course times. We do not recommend driving in as we are in the CBD.

Once you have been deemed competent, a PDF of your nationally recognised Statement of Attainment is issued the same day and made available in your student portal, from CBD College Pty Ltd, RTO 91399.
For all first aid courses and coffee courses there is online learning involved which needs to be completed before you attend your course.
